He was a dancer and member of the chorus in various musicals: The Great Caruso (1951) Stars and Stripes Forever (1952) Call Me Madam (1953) Second Chance (1953) The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T ( 1953) He was on of the dancers in Marilyn Monroe's musical number "Diamond are a Girl's Best Friend" with musical number "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" 1953 Frustrated with where his career was going George Chakiris made the fateful decision to leave Hollywood and go to London and was cast in a London production of a musical: West Side Story. When the musical went into big screen production, George Chakiris went back to Hollywood. He won The Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and The Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. And that as they say is history.

Russ Tamblyn played Gideon the youngest brother in the MGM classic Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) He played Norman Page in the drama Peyton Place (1957) in which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He was in High School Confidential (1958) and Russ Tamblyn had the starring role in Tom Thumb (1958). In 1961 his dancing and acrobatic talents were showcased in the movie: West Side Story. He played Riff the leader of the Jets. The success of West Side story lead to other leading roles including a major role in Robert Wise's horror film The Haunting (1963 and the Japanese Sci-Fi film The War of the Gargantuas (1966). Russ Tamblyn recently played a brief role on the Netflix remake The Haunting of Hill House (2018). A bit of tidbit: Actress Amber Tamblyn of Two and A Half Men is Russ Tamblyn's daughter.
